2006-2007 School Year
What a great year! The Dunkerton Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) would like to thank parents and community members
for their support throughout the 2006-2007 school year. Here is a list of the things that were accomplished:
Purchased Houghton Mifflin Learning Programs for the Pre-school
Provided Reading Kit for Kindergarten
Purchased 3 digital cameras for classroom use
Contributed electronic pencil sharpeners for the elementary
Provided classroom incentives and supplies for the elementary
Held 3 book distributions and gave out approximately 900 books
Purchased Character Counts Posters and Bracelets
Clipped/sorted approx 20,000 soup labels for balls and playground equipment
Clipped/sorted approximately $900 worth of Box Tops for Education
Totaled Hy Vee receipts to receive approximately $650
Counted and submitted 21,300 Milk Moola caps/bag tops for $1065
Raised over $8000 with the annual fundraiser
Contributed $1600 toward field trips
To provide pizza/pop for Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
Goodie Bags given to staff for American Education Week
Provided Track & Field ribbons for the 5th Grade
Funded xylophones for the elementary music program
Sponsored Alpha Friends for the Kindergarten
Purchased calculators for the secondary
Purchased and planted spring flowers for the playground
Provided incentives for Math Night
Coordinated PTO Reading Challenge and provided prize books for students
Sponsored Stebans Children Theatre in-school production
Honored school volunteers by donating books to the Dunkerton Public Library
Provided homework folders for the 2nd graders
Funded New Baby Books for community members
Purchased 3 large coolers for field trip use
Provided yearbook donations to the Dunkerton Public Library
Funded Emergent Reader books for 1st graders
Purchased activity items for 4th grade recess program
